If you’ve got an eBay store, there are a lot of things you can be doing to increase the amount of sales you’re getting.
Sometimes it can be difficult to know where to begin. Often the simplest changes can achieve the biggest results.
We’ve put together a list of 5 simple ways you can increase your sales on eBay:
1. Great quality product photos
This might seem obvious, however I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen listings with small or blurry photos. Online shoppers can’t see or touch your product, so having a clear photo can make all the difference.
When you’re taking photos, make sure you’ve got close up shot that’s in focus. Also try to get a few different angles of your product.
2. Optimised product description
A well-written product description is critical to your success on eBay.
Product features are important however don’t just stop there. Go deeper and talk about the benefits your customer will get from using your product. You want the customer to be saying ‘yes’ in their head as they’re reading your description. And don’t be shy about using descriptive language.
You may want to brush up on your copywriting skills. I’d highly recommend taking a look at Joanna Wiebe’s resources over at Copy Hackers.
3. Email Marketing
Obtaining new customers can be both time consuming and expensive. Selling to your previous customers is often an extremely effective way to increase sales.
Start building an email list of your satisfied customers. Although remember effective email marketing is about giving more than it's about receiving. So give your customers a reason to subscribe.
eBay has a built in email marketing tool which allows store owners to send 5,000 free emails a month to subscribers.
4. Eliminate objections
By eliminating objections as many objections as possible, you’re well on your way to boosting your sales. You can do this by listing out these as frequently asked questions (FAQ).
You’ll find a lot of these can be sourced from any questions you’ve had from customers, others you might have to anticipate.
5. Optimise for search
Generally the more traffic you get to your listing, the more sales you’ll make. By optimising your listing for search, you’ll be able to drive more traffic to your listing.
There are a lot of good resources available online to help you do this.
